History

Carl Floyd Lamb was born in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. He lived in the Oklahoma area until he was fifteen years old when he moved to Texas with his parents and three younger brothers. Growing up helping his dad on the Dairy Farms helped Carl to develop a strong work ethic that has carried into his business practices.

At 18 years old Carl joined the Army. He did one tour in Vietnam before being discharged. After returning to Civilian life he spent 2 years working on a roofing crew in Waco, Texas. This experience gave him the skills necessary to start his own business. So in 1974 he started his own labor subcontract crew. They worked in Waco until 1984 when he married his wife Janet and they moved to the Dallas/Ft Worth metroplex where they ran Lambs Roofing.

Business Philosophy

Carl is a firm believer in the Bible and tries to operate his business based on the teaching to treat others the way you want to be treated. Lambs Roofing advertises that they do quality work at reasonable prices and they work very hard to follow through on that commitment. They are a “Ma & Pa” type of operation with old time traditional ethics who will treat you right on every job.

“Many years ago my two brothers and I were working on a roof in a small town outside of Waco. My brother was walking across the roof when suddenly he just disappeared. He had fallen through the roof and landed in the middle of the kitchen while the home owners were having lunch at the table. He got up, shook himself off, excused himself & walked outside. Fortunately he wasn’t hurt but it made quite a mess. It turns out that the big hole in the roof was where an old chimney stack had been. When it was removed, the decking was not properly repaired and there was just a piece of tin put up to cover the hole. Many people have similar stories of roofs that were not repaired properly. This can cause costly future repairs and serious injury. There is a right way and a wrong way to do things. Cutting corners just doesn’t pay.”
